first_imgNewsLocal NewsGross overcrowding at Regional HospitalBy admin – January 5, 2011 593 GROSS overcrowding is currently being experienced at the Mid Western Regional Hospital (MWRH) in Dooradoyle, according to the INMO, who claim that 51 patients are currently on trolleys or on beds in corridors.The iNMO said that there is a huge strain on the provision of safe clinical care at the hospital since the commencement of reconfiguration of acute services in April 2009.Sign up for the weekly Limerick Post newsletter Sign Up Industrial Relations Officer with the INMO Mary Fogarty, said the organisation is again requesting that the HIQA (Health Information and Quality Authority) undertake an urgent review of the impact of centralisation of all acute services in the MWRH.
